Wellthy: From an employee’s point of view
How Wellthy Helped Lori
Lori, a Dow Jones employee, is the primary caregiver for her mom and dad. Not long ago, her dad had quadruple bypass surgery and recently, he suffered a fall and broke his leg. As Lori continued to care for her parents, she realized how complex their insurance coverage and social security benefits were, on top of handling their medical needs – it became really overwhelming. That’s where Wellthy stepped in to be of support for Lori’s family.
With Wellthy, families are matched with a dedicated Care Coordinator who becomes the family’s partner or personal healthcare assistant and will do everything from finding the right in-home aide, handling a move into a facility, contesting and negotiating insurance bills, scheduling appointments with top doctors, and so much more. And to know that News Corp covers the cost of Wellthy for employees and their families, was an added bonus for Lori.
Within hours of signing up, Lori was matched with her own Care Coordinator: Meredith. After hopping on a kickoff call, Meredeth created a plan, prioritized tasks, and most importantly got things done for Lori and her family. Over the course of a few months, Meredith was able to provide guidance on social security benefits, file appeals for medical bills, identify tax deductions, find prescription financial assistance programs, and evaluate insurance coverage options. Lori shared with Wellthy, “I love your service. [It is] so helpful and takes away a lot of stress.”
When asked if she was willing to share her Wellthy experience with the News Corp team Lori said “Absolutely. If I can help save any other colleagues the stress you have all saved me, I’m all for it.”
