“But I have good medical coverage and my company provides disability benefits. Is there more I could do to protect myself?”
Yes, through MetLife’s Critical Illness insurance plan.
Critical Illness coverage is an additional insurance that provides a lump sum payment directly to you and you decide how to spend the funds. News Corp offers two levels of coverage and you can cover yourself or your whole family.
Eligible Individual | Initial Benefit |
Employee | $15,000 or $30,000 |
Spouse | 50% of the employee’s Initial Benefit |
Dependent Child(ren) | 50% of the employee’s Initial Benefit |
Payments for the coverage are made through convenient payroll deductions, so you will never have to worry about sending a check in or having a lapse in coverage. Employees can enroll in Critical Illness coverage during open enrollment, as a new hire or if they have a qualifying event.
